Summary of Position:
Under general supervision, is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger, including creation of journal entries and in preparing basic financial reports.
Also performs reconciliations.
Performs senior level accounting work requiring the use of professional concepts.
May provide assistance to team members in resolving issues.
This is a senior-level professional position.

Specific Responsibilities:
o Performs moderately complex financial analyses to summarize current organization financial position.
Recommends methods and procedures to improve accounting processes.
Performs activity relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statementso Records journal entries and performs general ledger balance sheet reconciliationso Calculates, reviews and records cost of goods sold and related journal entrieso Maintain fixed assets, including performance of annual physical inventoryo Calculates FINT bonuses and commissionso Review monthly accrual for Browns UK for accuracy and complete request for payment by wireo Prepare for monthly close meetings by reviewing financial statements and researching any unusual variances.
Research and resolve any items identified during the meeting prior to closeo Maintains knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, SEC requirements, and other relevant accounting regulationso Works with other departments to reconcile accounts and on other issues as neededo Works on special projects and ad hoc requests as assignedJob Requirements o BA/BS in Accounting or Financeo 5 to 9 years previous accounting experience o Proficient use of spreadsheets and databases o Intermediate computer skills with general office software and accounting systemso Solid verbal and written communication skillso Strong analytical and problem resolution skillso May require specific experience with specific accounting area (e.
g.
, cost of goods sold calculation, inventory)o Lawson and / or Oracle experience a pluso Normal office environment requiring ability to organize and prioritize workload, communicate effectively, sit for extended periods of time, use standard office equipment, and review and proof documents

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
